Dinosaur Slime Sensory Activity!
Dinosaur Slime Sensory Activity!

Welcome to Dinosaur Week! Today we are continuing the dino fun with a super easy dinosaur slime activity! Now, this sensory bin isnt actually made with slime, but my son kept talking about how slimy it felt when he was playing, so I thought that was the more appropriate name!

Materials needed:
- 4 packets of knox gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 cup cold water
- green and yellow food coloring (or other of choice!)
- a container to make it in
- plastic dinosaurs
Sprinkle the gelatin over the cold water and let it sit for about a minute to start dissolving. Mix in the two cups of boiling water and still until all the gelatin is dissolved, about 2 minutes. Add food coloring of choice to make it nice and slimy looking! Add half of the dinosaurs.
Transfer to fridge to set. After about an hour, push in the extra dinosaurs so some are at the top and some are pushed in. Allow it to set for a few more hours.

When its time to play simply slide the slime out of the container into the sink or bathtub (or larger sensory bin you might use). You might have to help it along, but it should pull easily from the sides and slide out in one blob! I would highly recommend doing this in the sink or tub, as it can get very messy! When youre done, you can just use hot water to wash it all down!

Playtime! Squish and pull the gelatin slime apart to free all the dinos! We also used a squirt bottle with warm water for some extra fun.

When all the dinos were free my son continued to play with the "slime" in the sink and squished around and played with the dinos in it as well. He played for quite awhile before announcing he was done! This activity was super easy to set up and just as much fun as the others we did this week!
